SNMBA / IMBA March Madness!

SNMBA / IMBA March Madness!

If you love mountain biking, you belong with YOUR LOCAL IMBA CHAPTER, snmba

SNMBA has been hard at work lately making sure you continue to have access to land to ride your bike. In 2015, we need YOUR help. We’re continuing to talk with land and city managers on your behalf to open up access and to discuss regulations and management of these trails. I fear one day it will come to a tragic junction that will not favor mountain bikers because our voice isn’t big enough to make a difference. As a chapter of International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA), who believes access to sustainable mountain bike trails is critical to recreation and land conservation, we want you to join us in making a change. Every day, we work to educate trail users for a strong future, because without stewards and advocates of the trails, mountain bike experiences will be limited or lost. We are at the cusp of something big, something bigger than you or I. Southern Nevada cannot live in the shadows of other great mountain bike areas any longer at the direction we are heading. Change needed to happen. It’s on the horizon, and it’s good! New leaders with a new vision, and support of mountain bikers. I’m excited and I feel confident the changes on the horizon will bring Southern Nevada up to, and possibly exceed, our neighbors in Utah and Arizona.

By joining SNMBA, it’s the most effective way for you to build and maintain the amazing trails you love to ride. Your membership dues support our work, as well as IMBA’s efforts nationwide (even in Washington, D.C). So here’s what IMBA’s doing for you: During the month of March, your membership enters you to win great prizes, like a Scott Genius mountain bike, or a VIP mountain bike trip to the Burning Can Festival at The Oskar Blues REEB Ranch in Brevard, NC! —So here you are, at the bottom of the article, and I’m happy you got this far. That means you’re interested. I’m here to support you and to make sure Southern Nevada continues forward in the right direction for mountain bikers. Sometimes it’s a painfully slow road we take to get to our goal, but in the past few years, we’ve made amazing progress. There are a few items we’re smoothing out right now that will be huge in the next month or so, so be patient, supportive, and most of all, a member so I can count YOU as one note of the mountain bike voice.

Sincerely,

Erik J. Montville

President, SNMBA
