SNMBA wins grant from REI

SNMBA is proud to officially announce that REI awarded a grant to Southern Nevada Mountain Bike Association in the amount of $10,000 for use for building trails in Mt. Charleston. SNMBA would like to sincerely thank Ashely Lee, REI, and the rest of the management for supporting local mountain biking in Southern Nevada. Specifically, we are continuing our work in the Middle Kyle network of trails on Mt. Charleston and this grant will help with signage, building a kiosk at the upper trailhead, and to support volunteers on trail building days. We will keep you posted on upcoming trail volunteer days to get this project completed.

We would also like to recognize the U.S. Forestry Service for working with us, specifically Suzanne Shelp, for including us in the development of these trails. We would also like to point out Great Basin Institute for aiding in the building in some very challenging areas that needed greater manpower and know how. And a special thank you to our IMBA Southwest Regional Director, Patrick Kell, for assisting us in the formation of this grant proposal.

Thank you to all and see you out on the trails!
